8-4-4 school management system for exams and grading
Marks arrive on paper and over WhatsApp. Enter them once and grades, points and merit lists follow.
Enaton runs 8-4-4 properly: subjects and their papers, marks entered once, grading and points applied by the rules your school sets, and mid term, end term, mocks and merged exams handled without rebuilding a spreadsheet each time.

What it does
Enaton runs 8-4-4 properly: subjects and their papers, marks entered once, grading and points applied by the rules your school sets, and mid term, end term, mocks and merged exams handled without rebuilding a spreadsheet each time.
Subjects and teaching
- Subjects with their papers, weighted the way your school weights them
- Class subjects, so each stream carries the right set
- Subject teachers assigned, so a teacher sees only what they teach
Show all 4
- Optional subjects handled per learner rather than per class
Exams
- Mid term, end term, mocks and continuous assessment as distinct exam types
- Exams created against a term, with dates that have to fall inside it
- Merged exams, for combining assessments into one reported result
Show all 4
- Marks entry designed for a teacher with a stack of scripts, not for an accountant
Grading and results
- Your own grading scale, with the grade boundaries and points your school uses
- Subject grades, mean grades, points and position, worked out consistently every time
- Merit lists by class, by stream and by subject
Show all 4
- Analysis a principal actually reads: subject performance, teacher performance, movement between exams
Report cards
Report cards come from the marks already recorded, so producing them is not a separate project. They can carry the fee balance, they can be released to the parent portal as well as printed, and they can be regenerated if something changes without redoing the work.

The end of term crush
In most schools the last two weeks of term are an administrative emergency. Marks arrive from teachers on paper, in books, sometimes over WhatsApp. Somebody types them into a master spreadsheet. Formulas break. One teacher is late. Report cards get printed the night before closing day and at least a few of them are wrong.
The subject with papers makes it worse. English with two papers, Maths with two, sciences with theory and practical, each weighted differently, all needing to combine into one subject grade before anything else can happen.
How Enaton handles it
Teachers enter marks once, for the subjects and classes they actually teach. Papers combine into subject scores by the weighting the school has configured, grades and points come from the school’s own grading scale, and the ranking, the merit list and the report card follow from there without anyone assembling them.
Because the marks are entered against the right learner in the right class from the start, there is no master spreadsheet to break.

Questions we get about this
Can we use our own grading scale?
Yes. Grade boundaries, points and descriptors are configured per school, and can differ per department where that is how you already work.
How are subjects with two papers handled?
Papers are recorded separately and combined into the subject score using the weighting your school sets, so English Paper 1 and Paper 2 produce one English grade without anyone doing it by hand.
Can we combine a mid term and an end term into one result?
Yes, through merged exams. You decide which assessments combine and how they are weighted.
2 more questions
What if a teacher enters a mark late?
They enter it and the affected results update. There is no master spreadsheet to rebuild, which is why late marks stop being a crisis.
Can we run 8-4-4 and CBC in the same school?
Yes. Each keeps its own structure, grading and report card format.
