Pearson Edexcel and British

Pearson Edexcel and British curriculum school management system in Kenya

A British section is not a Kenyan class list. Set up year groups and key stages as they are, and the termly report follows.

Enaton runs the British National Curriculum and Pearson Edexcel in Kenya: key stages and year groups, Edexcel IGCSE and A level grading, and termly reports. It can run beside CBC/CBE, 8-4-4 or Cambridge in the same school.

A British section is not a Kenyan class list

A school that follows the British curriculum thinks in year groups and key stages, not in grades and forms. Learners in the same year sit different subjects, and the report is judged against a target grade.

When the system cannot hold that, the British section goes onto a spreadsheet kept by one teacher, and the head has two sets of figures to read.

How Enaton handles it

Year groups and key stages are set up as they are in your school. Subjects sit on the learner where learners choose them, and the grading follows the qualification: the scale Edexcel uses for IGCSE, and the scale for AS and A level.

The learner is one record. The fees, the parent portal, attendance and transport are shared with the rest of the school.

Questions we get about this

Does Enaton support Pearson Edexcel?

Yes. Edexcel IGCSE, AS and A level run on year groups, subject choices per learner and the grading each qualification uses.

Does it handle the British National Curriculum key stages?

Yes. Year groups are grouped into key stages, with a termly report for each learner.

Can we run British and Cambridge in the same school?

Yes. Each keeps its own structure and report, and they share fees, the parent portal and attendance.
