Enaton started with a question anyone who has run a school will know. Why is this still so hard? Fees in one book, results in another, and nobody able to say by Friday what is owed.
A school should spend its attention on teaching
Most of the paperwork in a Kenyan school is not hard. It is repeated by hand, in several places, by people who did not join a school to reconcile a bank statement. That is where the term goes.
Enaton takes that weight off. One system for fees, academics, attendance, transport, stores, communication and the parent portal, so the numbers agree and a director can answer a question the moment it is asked.
We are a Kenyan company building for Kenyan schools, and we stay close enough to them that the next thing we build is chosen by the people using it.

Billed and tracked, not collected. Each figure uses the lowest end of its real range, and the working is on how we count.
We do not publish the names of our schools. A school’s finances are its own business, and we will not trade a client’s privacy for a logo wall.

What we hold to
Access is granted by role, each school’s records are kept apart from every other school, and everything you put in belongs to you. If you ever leave, your data is exported and handed to you.
Terms, vote heads, CBC/CBE, 8-4-4, Cambridge, Edexcel and Montessori side by side, and fees paid the way parents actually pay them. Not a foreign system with a Kenyan flag added.
Nearly every module exists because a bursar or a head teacher described a problem clearly enough to build. We would rather ship the plain thing that saves an hour a day than the clever thing nobody opens twice.
Every number we publish uses the floor of its real range, and the arithmetic sits on a page anyone can read.

Enaton is built by a small team in Nairobi. Elvis Sautet is Head of Product, so he is usually the person you talk to about how a fee structure should behave, or why a report card is laid out the way it is.
