Portals and roles

School portals for teachers, parents, drivers and every staff member

Shared logins mean nobody can say who did it. Each person gets their own portal and sees only what their role allows.

Enaton gives everyone at your school their own way in: teachers, parents, drivers, bursars, the cook and anyone else you add. Your school creates the roles and decides what each one can see and do, so every person sees their own work and nothing they should not.

What it does

Enaton gives everyone at your school their own way in: teachers, parents, drivers, bursars, the cook and anyone else you add. Your school creates the roles and decides what each one can see and do, so every person sees their own work and nothing they should not.

A way in for everyone

  • Parents: every child on one login, with results, attendance, the diary, the bus and receipts
  • Teachers: their own classes, streams, subjects, learning areas and exams
  • Drivers: their own trips, started and ended from their phone, which puts the bus on the parents’ map
Show all 5
  • Bursars, head teachers, cooks and any staff member, with the access their work needs
  • People from outside the school, such as an auditor, added as outside users

Roles you create

  • Create your own roles and name them the way your school does
  • For each role, choose what it may view, create, edit, delete, approve, export or print, module by module
  • Give or take away a permission one at a time, or many at once

  • Give each person the roles and portals that fit their job

Who did what

  • Every sign in recorded, with the sessions behind it
  • Records of who changed attendance, signed the diary, billed, receipted or sent a message
  • Approvals kept separate from access, so wide access does not mean the power to approve spending

Who it helps

How it works

  1. Create the roles your school uses and name them your way

  2. Choose what each role may view, create, change or approve

  3. Give each person the roles and portals that fit their job

  4. Review who signed in and who changed what, and when

One shared login is no control at all

In many schools a handful of people share one login, or everybody sees everything. A teacher can open the fee records, a clerk can change a mark, and when something goes wrong nobody can say who did it.

The opposite is just as bad. People who need one screen are given nothing, so they phone the office for every answer, and the office becomes the bottleneck for the whole school.

How Enaton handles it

Each person opens the portal that fits them. Parents see their own children. Teachers see their own classes, subjects and learning areas. Drivers run their own trips from their phone. Office staff and leaders see what their work needs.

You build the roles yourself. For each role you decide, module by module, what it may view, create, edit, approve, export or print, and you give each person the roles and portals that fit their job.

Questions we get about this

Can we decide what each staff member can see?

Yes. You create roles and choose, module by module, what each role may view, create, edit, approve, export or print, then give each person the roles that fit their job.

Do drivers get their own access?

Yes. Drivers see their own trips and start and end them from their phone, and the phone’s location puts the bus on the parents’ map.

Can we see who signed in and what they did?

Yes. Sign ins are recorded with the sessions behind them, and key actions such as attendance changes, diary signatures, billing and messages are recorded against the person who made them.

1 more question
Can someone from outside the school get access, such as an auditor?

Yes. People from outside the school can be added as outside users, apart from your staff.
